The drum paddle has come off, I have found the part, No ES186680. If Tthis fits onto the metal tab how can I be sure it's the drum paddle I need to replace and not the metal tab.
Model Hotpoint washing machibe WMA33 (cream colour- forgot the key letter)

- if its a WMA33 washing machine like mine, then you need the version 2 paddle, i made the mistake once of getting version 1, but i returned it, and got it exchanged for version 2 without any problem, but version 2 paddle IS the one you need. x
