My Samsung American fridge/freezer made a humming sound, now the temperatures are wrong and the fridge is warm

If the freezer is defrosting and the compressor is not 'running' but may occasionally make a loud 'click' and another after 5 to 10 seconds and repeat after about a minute the fault is likely to be the compressor. This would require a fridge systems engineer to resolve the problem.
