Coffee maker SLOW to heat up
Hello, I have a Delonghi magnifica which has been excellent but recently has become very slow to heat up from switch on ...a good 2 to 3 minutes. I have tried to find a repairer in the area without success. Could this problem be a faulty heater? Do they generally fail completely or could the failure result in the symptoms I am experiencing? Thanks Alan Whall

Re DJM's comments: Elements are like light bulbs their performance does not tend to drop off with age. Try descaling as afirst cause of action as scale will reduce the transfer of heat.
- Can I ask if you ever solved this issue? We are seeing the same problem. We use Brita filtered water, so I don't think it is a de-scaling problem.

Before investigating further ensure the appliance is fully descaled as limescale will reduce the heater efficiency.
