we have ordered on 2 occasion this part and both times the seal has split in the same position
the machine has nothing sharp put in it and is only use for soft furnishings. is there anything which could be causing the seal to split in exactly the same place twice.

It is very unusual for the seal to split without it being damaged, let alone split twice. For this reason it suggests a problem with your load. Make sure zips cannot catch the seal and ensure the load is always balanced and not causing excessive shaking and vibration.
