My RC9011B will switch on but after a very short time switch itself off
the whole machine goes off, is this a thermostat problem or control board?

If the power comes back if left plugged in after twenty or so minutes then it is likely to be a thermal cut out. Also try running on low heat or refresh/cool down to see if it runs for longer.
