• eSpares Staff said to me that "This is a common problem with most manufacturers and occurs in original or pattern elements across most manufacturers with fan element, for this reason we suggest the following advice. To help prevent damage to a fan element turn the thermostat down to minimum for thirty seconds before switching off. Switching straight off stopping the circulation fan immediately when the element is hot can cause overheating and damage the element as the circulating air stops". • Mine also lasted only around 18 months when I purchased the part from espares. I've had to buy another one a week ago. I think they usually last much longer, since the previous one that was installed when I moved into the flat lasted over six years, at least. By Tony - London - 03 May 2013
