Your suggestion didn't solve problem, I substituted both a new (bought from you) and one other regulator from the existing regulators on the hob. every time it comes on full and cannot be controlled. Maybe you have a wiring diagram I could look at ?
This is on a cooker at my Mother's ( 250 miles away)who I'm not able to visit that often, hence the time gap between questions

Regulators work by using a small heater inside that when 'on' heats and causes a bimetal strip to cut off the power. This time till it cuts of is varied by the knob position. If the controls have lost there 'neutral' the heater will not heat and not cut off. Check on the working control for which connection is short to the neutral of the terminal block at the back. The same connector on the non working controls should also be connected to this connector.
