Buckled original rail - door opening deformed the plate - would be good for advice on how to prevent happening again

The plate below the door should not contact the door unless the door is bent, damaged or the hinges are worn or here has been some damage when moving the appliance. After replacement ensure there is sufficient clearance to prevent the plate contacting the door and adjust or repair as required.
