the door on my fridge is sticking.
it sticks so bad that only my husband can open it. I have a 5yr extra care plan on it so I called them out, they informed me that there was nothing wrong with the seal that it is made that way, but would send me a new door handle in case that breaks. then I was instructed to release the suction to just put my finger between the seal so a little air gets in then the door will open with no problem. I have had my Beco fridge for nearly 2years and have had no problem with the door till now. I am a able bodied 73 years old lady and I have never heard of anyone having to put there fingers between the seal of a fridge in order to open it. the seal has no marks and I have all ways kept it clean. Please can you help me with this problem, I wait in anticipation to hear from you. Kind Regards, Florence Miller.

Chris at eSpares says...
When a freezer door is opened the cold air will fall out and be replaced with warmer air. As soon as the door is closed this air will start to contract holding the door firmly shut until the pressure equalizes (normally after a couple of minutes) Disturbing the seal as suggested speeds up the time taken to equalise the pressure. If your problem is only after the door has recently been opened then this is normal and try to avoid repeated opening when preparing a meal by taking all your ingredients out together and waiting a couple of minutes before trying to put them back. As your engineer advised this is not a fault but down to the physics of air contracting when cooled.
