Washer dryers are a fantastic tool to have in a household, as well as washing your clothes it even has the process of drying them. So when you’re in a rush, pop your favourite top in and have it cleaned and dried at once ready to wear out.
If your washer dryer is showing an E11 error code or the power light blinks eleven times before pausing and repeating there is likely to be a problem with the dryer sensor or its wiring. You may feel like you’re doomed but fear not as we have all the knowledge that can help you restore your appliance back to its best.
Dryer Sensor
The dryer sensor is responsible for telling the Programme Control Board how wet your laundry is, so it can stop the cycle when dry.
Safety First! Please make sure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before beginning any repair.
To access the dryer sensor take off the upper lid by removing the screws.
- Depending on the model, locate the washer dryer sensor within the ducting area.
- Occasionally the electrical wires leading to the sensor may be damaged due to being worn or excess tension.
- Check the dryer sensor resistance using a multimeter.
- You’re looking for an average reading between 10,000 - 20,000 ohms. (See here for instruction on how to use a multimeter)
