Dishwasher Keeps Filling With Water
Having a working dishwasher is essential if you want to get the kitchen tidy after you’ve just enjoyed a family meal. It saves you the hassle of putting the washing up gloves on and scrubbing the dishes yourself, and it’s much more time friendly to load up the trusty dishwasher.
If you’ve come to load up the washer with dirty dishes and found it keeps filling with water, whilst displaying an error code, it can be a serious headache for you.
With the help of our advice centre, we can assist you in getting your dishwasher back into full working order - and prevent you from suffering from those hefty call-out charges to get it repaired.
Pressure Switch
The pressure switch is usually connected to the sump on a dishwasher. When water enters the sump it forces air through a tube connected to the pressure switch.
The switch then takes a reading of how much air passes in and controls the level of water accordingly inside the machine.
If the dishwasher is overflowing with water, follow our steps below:
Safety First! Please ensure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before starting any repair.
- It is common for the air tube located between the sump and pressure switch to become blocked with food particles.
- Inspect the tube for obstructions as it may cause the dishwasher to overfill with water. Remove any gunk and run a test wash.
- If the problem still persists, replacing the pressure switch may solve your worries.
If you’re feeling super productive we recommend using a dishwasher cleaner to hygienically clean the internal hoses and parts where you cannot reach.
