Chainsaw Not Cutting
Chainsaws make light work of heavy duty gardening, especially when gardening can be an exhausting chore. Has your bedroom window been shadowed by an enormous tree, blocking out the gorgeous daylight? Your chainsaw is sure to abolish the darkness, opening windows to rays of light.
However, good maintenance will only allow the chainsaw to perform at it’s best. If you're struggling to cut through that trunk, don’t worry! With our guidance you are sure to get your appliance working at full capacity again.
Blunt Chain
Over time even the best chainsaw loses its sharpness. As a result, your chore will become more difficult and the chainsaw will be subjected to wearing out quicker. The appearance of the wood chips gives a good indication of the wear on the chain. A sharp chain will produce fine, regular wood chips, while a blunt chain will continuously produce sawdust.
If your chainsaw is not cutting as efficiently as it once did, the problem is likely to be due to a blunt chain. It is possible for the chain to become blunt if not sharpened correctly. However, repeatedly sharpening the chain correctly, can still cause the chain to fail if the tips overheat or sharpened through the hardened area of the cutting tip.
Safety First! Please make sure that you’ve switched off your appliance and disconnected it from the mains before beginning any repair.
The best way to gain razor-sharp performance from your chainsaw again, is to replace the chain to restore its cutting power.
Using our easy to follow step by step guide, you should be able to replace the chain and get your chainsaw landscaping your garden with ease.
