If water is leaking from the front of your Bosch washing machine, it is most likely due to a faulty door seal. During the wash cycle, the door seal (also known as a gasket) will of course get wet and over time may become damaged by mould or start to crack and tear.
In this article, we will show you how to replace the door seal on a Bosch washing machine and get your appliance back up and running again.
You'll need:
To complete this repair, you'll need to have the following items:

Safety Advice
Before starting this repair, make sure your appliance is turned off and fully disconnected from the mains.
How to replace a Bosch washing machine door seal step by step
Now you have everything you need and your washing machine is disconnected, it's time to get started! Follow the step-by-step guide or watch the video below to successfully replace your washing machine door seal.
Step 1: Remove the top panel
Undo the two screws at the back of the machine which hold the top panel in place using your Torx Head screwdriver and lift off the panel.
Step 2: Remove the soap dispenser
After you have removed the top panel, pull out the soap dispenser too.
Step 3: Remove the fascia
Remove the fascia (control panel) by removing one screw from the side and three screws from the dispenser drawer frame. Keep these screws separate as they will need to be put back in the same place. You can then remove the fascia and place it on top of the machine.
Step 4: Remove the kickplate
The kickplate at the bottom of the washing machine should simply clip away. Detach the drain hose from this to remove it completely.
Step 5: Remove the retaining clip and door seal
The retaining clip secures the door seal at the front of the machine. To remove it, remove the top clip and gently pull it away.
Then push the door seal inside the machine.
Step 6: Remove the front of the machine
Next, remove the four screws that are holding the front in place. Two are located at the bottom and two are on the door interlock.
Then, gently pull the front of the machine and door away and place it to one side.
Step 7: Remove the counterweight if necessary
This model has a large counterweight going around the drum. You should be able to replace the door seal without removing it but if you feel like you don't have enough room, it's best to remove it.
Step 8: Remove the door seal
There is a spring retaining band going around the outside of the seal. Gently pull the seal away and work it around the band to remove it. Keep the retaining band to one side and pull the door seal out.
Step 9: Fit your new door seal
Your new seal will have three holes on one side. These will need to be placed at the bottom in the 6 o'clock position.
You can then work the seal around the drum.
Step 10: Replace the retaining spring
Fit the retaining spring back around the ridge and check that everything is in place.
Step 11: Refit the parts
Refit the front panel, kickplate, dispenser draw and top panel of your washing machine using the screws that you removed earlier.
Step 12: Attach the door seal to the front of the machine
Now all you need to do is attach the new door seal to the front of the machine. Make sure it goes over the lip all the way around.
Step 13: Refit the retaining band
Finally, refit the retaining band by placing it around the bottom and the sides first and refitting the clip at the top.
And there you have it, your Bosch washing machine should now be back up and running and no longer leaking.
