Step 1: Remove the spool cover
To remove the spool cover, press the two tabs which connect it to the trimmer head at the same time. Then simply pull the cover away and lift it off of the spool.
Step 2: Remove the spool and line
To remove the spool and line, gently pull the spool off the spindle that it sits on. As you pull the spool away, gently feed any remaining line through the outlet holes so that the spool and line come away freely.
Step 3: Pull out the new line
When fitting your new spool line, you will need to pull out some of the line first. A few inches should be enough. Once pulled out, hook the line around the hooks on the rim of the spool.
Step 4: Fit the new spool and line
To fit the new spool and line, feed the excess line through the trimmer head outlet holes from the inside out. Then push the spool onto the spindle until it clicks into place.
Then, using a tool such as the tip of a screwdriver, push the line off the spool hooks. Otherwise, the line won't be able to feed through.
Step 5: Refit the spool cover
With the spool and line fitted, you can now attach the spool cover by lining up the two tabs and clicking it into place.
