Safety First!
Before you begin, make sure your fridge freezer is turned off and completely disconnected from the mains.
Step 1: Turn off the water supply
The first thing you need to do is turn off your fridge freezer's water supply. To do this, you need to locate the shut off valve. This could be under the sink or in a nearby cabinet or crawl space. Once you have found it, simply turn it to cut off the water supply.
Step 2: Remove the filter
To remove the filter, you need to hold the tube collar against the filter body and pull the tube out.
Step 3: Insert the new water filter
Next, you need to replace it with a new water filter. To do this, align it so that the arrow 'flow' mark is pointed towards the fridge.
Then remove the red clip and take out the blank before installing.
Connect the inlet and outlet tubing to the appropriate end of the filter by firmly pushing the tubing all the way until it's tightly sealed.
Step 4: Reset the water filter
Next, you're going to need to reset the water filter. To do this, press the filter change button for three seconds.
You will then hear a chime and the colour of the indicator will change from red to blue.
Step 5: Turn the water supply back on
Now you have successfully replaced the external water filter, you can turn the water supply back on and check for any leaks. If you do experience leaks, then you can try repeating the steps above.
Step 6: Flush the filter
The last thing you will need to do is flush the filter. Press on the water lever and flush through around three litres of water until the water is running clean. This will allow trapped air to purge from the water system. If you notice that the water is dark or discoloured at first, don't worry as this is completely normal.
