If you’ve come to empty the dishes from your dishwasher only to find water has leaked from the door, sounds like you might have a faulty door seal.
The door seals job inside the dishwasher is to prevent water leaking out while the washer is in use, so obviously it is really important that you keep the seal in good condition; clean it once in awhile and try to make sure that it doesn't deteriorate.
If the seal on your Tricity Bendix dishwasher has perished you will need to replace it and luckily, you’ve come to the right place for guidance.
This video shows an example on how to remove or replace the part on a typical machine, some models may be different but the procedure should be similar.
What You Will Need:
Step 1 - Safety Advice
Safety First! Please make sure that you have switched your appliance off at the mains before starting your repair.
Caution: Due to the sharp edges exposed we suggest suitable Safety Gloves are worn to help prevent injury when carrying out this repair.
Step 2 - Remove Old Seal
Removing the old seal is very simple, all you need to do is literally pull out the existing gasket - you should have no problem, as it should easily pull away from the cavity it sits in.
Step 3 - Fit The New Seal
Now that the old seal is out the way, you have a great opportunity to give the whole thing a quick scrub to remove any build-up or limescale.
You can now begin with fitting the new seal. The seal only goes in one way round, so ensure you have it the right way round. The one shown in the video is fitted with the flap side on the inside.
Step 4 - Remove Excess Rubber (If Required)
If you have any excess length leftover then don’t worry - because you can just trim it off with a knife or pair of scissors.
There you go easy as that! Now with the new seal in place, you can get back to letting the dishwasher do all the hard work after dinner while you relax.
