- A small flat blade screwdriver
- A standard flat blade screwdriver or a Torx 25 screwdriver
- A 9mm spanner or ratchet
Safety first!
Before you begin, make sure your fridge has been unplugged from the mains and that all items have been removed from the inside of the door for your own safety.
How to replace the door hinges
Let's get stuck in! To learn how to replace the door hinges on a Beko fridge freezer, simply watch the video or follow our step-by-step guide below.
Step 1: Remove the top hinge
First, open the fridge door and insert the small flat blade screwdriver into the far side of the top door hinge cover. Prize the cover open and pull it off of the hinge.
Then, using either the flat blade screwdriver or the Torx 25 screwdriver, remove the two hinge screws found beneath the hinge cover. Make sure you have the fridge door supported as you do this, so that it doesn't fall down once the screws have been removed.
Next, angle the fridge door outwards until the top hinge is clear of the cabinet. You can then remove the hinge by hand, making sure to keep the door supported so that it doesn't fall.
Step 2: Lift the fridge door away
With the top hinge disconnected and removed, you can now lift the fridge door off of its centre hinge and place it safely to one side.
Step 3: Remove the middle hinge
When removing the middle hinge, you can access it without opening or removing the freezer door. Simply unscrew the two screws holding the hinge in place with either your flat blade screwdriver or the Torx 25 screwdriver. Once the screws have been removed, you can lift the hinge away.
Step 4: Remove the freezer door
To remove the freezer door, simply hold it on both sides, open it slightly and lift it off of the bottom hinge. Once removed, you can place the freezer door safely to one side along with the fridge door.
Step 5: Remove the bottom hinge
To replace the bottom hinge, you will first need to lean the fridge freezer back against the wall. We recommend placing a towel between the top of the fridge freezer and the wall to prevent any scuffs or damage.
With the fridge leaning back, start by unscrewing the foot from the bottom of the hinge by hand.
Then remove the two head bolts from beneath the hinge. For this, you will need to use your 9mm spanner or ratchet. Once the bolts have been removed, the hinge will come free.
Step 6: Fit the new bottom hinge
Now that all of the hinges have been removed, you can start fitting the new ones. It's best to start with the bottom one as your appliance is already leaning back and in position. Screw the bottom hinge into place at the bottom of the fridge freezer using either your 9mm spanner or ratchet.
You can then reattach the foot to the bottom of the new hinge.
Step 7: Reattach the freezer door
With the bottom hinge refitted, you can stand the appliance upright again, adjusting the feet if necessary to make the appliance level.
You can then slot the freezer door into place on the bottom hinge pin. Then close the door, as it will be held into place by the magnetic seal.
Step 8: Fit the new middle hinge
With the freezer door back in place, you can screw the new middle hinge into place using either your standard flat head screwdriver or your Torx 25 screwdriver.
Step 9: Reattach the fridge door
To reattach the fridge door to the fridge freezer, slot it onto the centre hinge pin. Make sure you keep the fridge door supported, as it will need to stay open for the time being and won't be secure.
Step 10: Fit the top hinge
With the fridge door supported, slot the top hinge into place in the top inner corner. Then screw the hinge into place using either the Torx 25 or the flat blade screwdriver.
To finish, slide the top hinge cover back over the hinge and clip it into place.
And there you have it! How to replace the door hinges on a Beko fridge freezer. Your appliance door should now be secure and opening and closing properly once more!
