The washing machine base plate is not something that usually breaks, but if you’ve got someone in the household that’s heavy footed or children they may accidentally kick it causing the plastic lugs inside to break. This may cause the kickplate to fall off and not stay in place.
It’s such a simple fix that you can easily do yourself without any trouble. Matt from eSpares will guide you through the process.
This video shows an example on how to remove or replace the part on a typical machine, some models may be different but the procedure should be similar.
What You Will Need:
Step 1 - Safety Advice
Safety First! Please ensure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before starting any repair.
Step 2 - Remove The Faulty Baseplate
Remove the broken baseplate from your washing machine and disconnect the drain hose from it.
Step 3 - Replace With Your New Baseplate
Get your new washing machine plinth and fit the drain hose in place. Line up the plastic lugs on the inside of the baseplate and click it into place.
