How to Replace a Hotpoint Dishwasher Fascia Plate

On a dishwasher the front face plate can be prone to damage - also used as a handle to open and close the door. If too much pressure is applied when gripping the handle, the fascia panel could crack.

Because you have found your way here we can presume that your dishwasher’s front panel requires replacing. If so, luckily you’ve come to the right place! Here we will guide you on how to replace the front fascia panel.

This video shows an example on how to remove or replace the part on a typical machine, some models may be different but the procedure should be similar.

Safety First! Please ensure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before starting any repair.

Caution: Due to the sharp edges exposed we suggest suitable Safety Gloves are worn to help prevent injury when carrying out this repair.

First things first - you will need to gain access to the back of the fascia and to do this you will need to unscrew the faceplate.

Safety Notice: With the front plate away from the machine there is an exposed metal lip which is very sharp and could cause an injury if not careful.

With the screws gone you will need to now remove the actual face plate away from the door. There will be wires so uncouple them and unscrew the door lock mechanism and PCB - these will need to be fitted into the new panel..

Removing the printed circuit board may be a little tedious so be careful not to damage it or else you could find yourself replacing this also.

With everything removed from the existing faceplate you can now fit it all into the new one. Don’t forget to take the original switch and also fix that into the new fascia. With everything now connected you can begin the reassembly procedure.

With the PCB back, comfortably in its new home it is worth working on some cable management, using the clips moulded into the plastic - you can use these to prevent the wires from flapping around and becoming caught between the fascia plate and that sharp metal lip. Speaking of the metal lip - when attaching the fascia be careful as you don’t want to catch and cut your finger.

Once everything is in place you can refit the screws and secure the faceplate and bob's your uncle you’ve just replaced your dishwasher’s fascia panel.
