Safety first
Remember, always make sure you've switched off your appliance and unplugged it from the mains before carrying out any work or repairs.
Step 1: Remove the heater cover
To fit your new tumble dryer heating element, you'll first need to remove the old one. The old heating element can be found at the back of the tumble dryer behind the heater cover. To remove this cover, unscrew the ten screws that hold it in place.
With the ten screws removed, you can lift the heater cover away from the appliance and safely place it aside.
Step 2: Remove the faulty heater
Now that the heater cover has been fully removed, you will be able to see the heating element with the two thermostats connected to the top. To remove the heater, unscrew the two screws that hold it in place at the top, then lift the heater away from the appliance.
Next, you will find a foam fitting where the heater's cable enters the back of the dryer. Remove this fitting, then pull the cable out until you can see the four multi-coloured wires and their plug connections. You can then unplug all of the electrical wire connections to fully disconnect the heater from the dryer.
Step 3: Fit the new heater
It's now time to fit your new tumble dryer heater. First, connect the electrical wire connections. These are all colour coded so you know which wires to plug together.
Then push the electrical connections back into the machine and refit the small foam fitting in place over the heater's cable.
Next, hook the heating element over the opening's lower lip at the back of the machine.
Then screw the new heating element into place by returning the two screws to the top of the heater.
Step 4: Refit the heater cover
With the replacement heater secure, you can now refit the heater cover. Do so by screwing the cover back into place over the heater with the ten screws you removed earlier.
And there you have it! How to fix Hoover tumble dryer error code E15. Your appliance should now be working and drying your clothes properly once more.
