If your heater has failed your machine may be running, but it won't get warm and dry your clothes effectively. It may also trip your fuse board in your home. If you have a faulty heating element it will need to be replaced.

What You Will Need:
Step 1 - Switch off Your Appliance
Safety First! Please ensure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before starting any repair.
Step 2 - Remove the Top Panel
The first thing you need to do is to remove the top of the appliance by undoing the screws at the back.
Step 3 - Remove the Heat Shield
With the top removed you now need to remove the heat shield - again this is also held in place by screws, so you just need to undo these. Follow this by then releasing the clips that are keeping it in position.
Step 4 - Remove the Heater
To get to the heater you will need to remove the heater cover, which (yeah, you guessed it!) is held in place by screws that will need to be taken out (The screws at the bottom are larger - so we will use a Phillips head screwdriver)
The heater itself is connected inside, so to be able to disconnect the heater you will need to remove the side panel. The side panel is held in place by screws at the back and a screw at the top.
Please Note: Removing these screws can be a bit tricky, so do be careful not to drop them in the cabinet.
You will now be able to disconnect the heater, unscrew it and then pull the cabling through.
Step 5 - Fit the New Heater
Grab your new heater and feed the cabling inside. Make sure you attach the rubber grommet correctly into the back of your dryer, and then you can simply screw the heater into place.
Step 6 - Fit the Heater Cover & Heat Shield
Make sure all the surplus wiring has been pushed into the rubber grommet. You can now replace the heater cover. With this now being fitted, you need to then add the heat shield, and secure it in position by popping the clips into place and refitting the screws.
Step 7 - Reconnect the Heater
Your next little task is to reconnect the heater, and do make sure that all of the wires are correctly in place.
Step 8 - Fit the Side Panel & Top Panel
To refit the side panel make sure the pegs at the bottom are in place. Hold it firmly while you work the side peg in, and then you're free to screw it back together. All that's left is to replace the top of the dryer.
Well hey guess what? You have successfully replaced the heater in your tumble dryer!
