How to Fit Freezer Drawer Fronts

Freezer drawers inside most fridges are made of plastic, which means they can become brittle when cold and crack easily. If your freezer drawer fronts have become cracked or damaged, they will need to be replaced. Fortunately, freezer drawer fronts can be purchased separately from freezer drawers and are easily replaceable. Read on to learn how to replace your freezer drawer fronts quickly and easily!

Please note that this process may differ slightly depending on your particular model of fridge freezer. However, the process should generally be similar.

To begin, you'll need to separate the damaged freezer drawer front from the drawer itself, which can be tricky without causing further damage depending on your appliance. First, remove the freezer drawer from the freezer and allow it time to warm up and become less brittle.

Then turn the drawer upside down. For many fridge freezer drawers like the one we're using for this process, the front will be connected by clips. If so, use an item like a flat blade screwdriver or a butter knife to very carefully prise each of the clips free, working along as you do so until you release the drawer front. You can also use an old credit card or something similar to help prise the clips free alongside your screwdriver or knife.

When buying replacement drawer fronts, you'll need to know your fridge freezer's model number to ensure you buy the correct ones. This will be a combination of letters and numbers, and can usually be found on a sticker or plate behind your fridge's salad drawers, on the inside of the door, or on the back or side of the appliance.

Once you have your new freezer drawer front at hand, you can go ahead and fit it onto the drawer. On the drawers we are using for this process, there are two pegs on the top corners at the front of the drawer. Fit the drawer front onto these pegs first, or whatever pegs or clips your freezer drawers may have.

You can then secure the drawer front into place by slotting it into the clips on the bottom side of the drawer, if your freezer drawer has them.

And there you have it! How to fit freezer drawer fronts on your freezer drawers. Your appliance should now be back in shape once more!
