If you suspect a fault with a thermal fuse in your appliance, you need to perform a continuity test on it using a multimeter- as the thermal fuse will display no visual indicators of its fault.
I've set up and calibrated this multimeter as per the instructions and turned the dial to the lowest ohm rating. I'm going to use this thermal fuse from a tumble dryer to demonstrate.
The reading for a working thermal fuse should be zero- meaning that this thermal fuse is working perfectly and doesn't need to be replaced.
