If you have a faulty appliance and you suspect it might be a problem with the switch, you can use a multimeter to check the switch for continuity. First, set up and calibrate the multimeter as per the instructions and turn the dial to the lowest ohm rating.
A switch needs to be activated in order to check its continuity, so I'm going to ask a friend to activate the switch while I touch the pins of the multimeter to the terminals of the switch. The reading for a switch with continuity needs to be zero and anything above this means the switch is faulty, in this case this switch is working fine.
